IBFW 2013: Showstopper Chitrangada Singh

Chitrangada Singh was one of the showstoppers at the ongoing India Bridal Fashion Week 2013. Many celebrities like Kangna Ranaut, Kabir Bedi, Esha Gupta, Neha Dhupia, Sophie Choudry etc have already graced at the ramp of the IBFW 2013.

Celebrities walk the ramp as showstopper for various designers and Chitrangada Singh was one of them. Chitrangada looked like a traditional bride in a red bridal lehenga designed by Suneet Varma. Suneet Varma showcased an ancient Rome style of designs on the ramp of IBFW 2013. Chitrangada Singh who was the showstopper for Suneet Varma at IBFW 2013 looked pretty in the frill lehenga. Chitrangada Singh's lehenga had huge frills on it and the heavy silver and golden work was used to create the showstopper's outfit. 
 
She teamed this red lehenga with a matching cap sleeve heavily embellished blouse and a red coloured net dupatta. Even the dupatta was embroidered with golden patches on it. Side kept curls were set with a golden hairdress and the bangs covered her forehead. Chitrangada accessorised this bridal look with Suneet Varma designed golden accessories. There was a special surprise package on IBFW 2013 Day 6 for us. And it was none other than the youngest of the Bollywood beauties, Alia Bhatt. Alia Bhatt was the show stopper for AZVA, which is a jewellery brand sponsored by World Gold Council. AZVA and the World Gold Council presented some really contemporary designs for Day 6 of IBFW 2013. 
 
Alia Bhatt was a perfect choice because she is seen as the face of the modern India bride. Aamby Valley India Bridal Fashion Week 2013 is all about bridal fashion today. And bridal fashion can hardly be complete without jewellery. With the changing times, jewellery designs too keep changing. Alia Bhatt and AZVA presented what today's bride conceives as 'bridal' jewellery. Alia Bhatt was dressed in a golden sleeveless gown for her debut on the ramp. The gown was thigh-high slit. It also had a deeply scooped back. The cutout gown was also scooped on one side of the waist. 
 
Enthralled as we were by her gown, Alia Bhatt was actually showcasing jewellery so we might as well talk about it. She wore a golden choker that had floral patterns on one side and beads on the other. There was a thick golden warrior bracelet on her wrist and her earrings very contemporary in style. She was wearing rounded dangling earring that were attached to her hair with a beaded golden chain. Her hair was tied up in a high pony. And so the young Alia Bhatt scorched the ramp on Day 6 of IBFW 2013. 
 
The trend for this year is pretty clear. There is a definite thrust on gold jewellery. In the last few years, bridal fashion was dominated by diamond jewellery. But this year, gold is back with a bang. We got to see some very stylish and modern designs for the bride cast in gold.

IIFA 2013 was a great gala event. This year too celebrities got dressed in their best outfits to impress the fashion gurus. We saw different designs, patterns and colours at the green carpet of IIFA 2013. Best dressed celebrities at IIFA 2013 includes Anushka Sharma (in Roberto Cavalli), Huma Qureshi (in Nikhil Thampi), Madhuri Dixit (Jade by Karishma and Monica), Jacqueline Fernandez (in Roberto Cavalli), Neha Dhupia (in Anamika Khanna) to name a few. 
 
There was one more best dressed celebrity at IIFA 2013 green carpet. Yami Gautam, the new bee who grabbed the Best Debut Female Award at the IIFA 2013 looked bright and gorgeous in a Swapnil Shinde gown. 
 
Yami Gautam ditched the glitter and sparkling gowns and opted for a summer fashion colour block gown. The two toned gown had a strapless ruched bodice and was cinched at the waist with an obe metal golden belt. The floor length Swapnil Shinde gown looked flawless on the beautiful Yami Gautam. She completed the look with thick golden hoop earrings. Her soft curled half pinned side swept hair looked neat with the strapless Swapnil Shinde gown. Later, Yami Gautam left her soft curls loose and the side swept hair looked pretty when she posed with the award. Retro fashion is basically the style that was prevalent in the 1970s. This style has elements of hippie or Bohemian fashion. Bollywood celebrities' retro clothes have always clicked.
